Off road we make our climb to the Lassithi plateau with breathtaking, picturesque view to a 900m level. At the entrance of the Lassithi Plateau we stop to drink a coffee.
On Lassithi we visit a monastery with several beautiful Greek Orthodox churches, each with its own story. We can watch how an artist is painting and restoring frescoes and icons.
One of the highlights is the visit of the ZEUS cave.
In a traditional family taverna with a typical windmill, we will enjoy a Cretan lunch from the oven. Our lunch includes many local products that come from the village itself. After lunch we drive through the beautiful landscape of Lassithi.
Who isn't interested in the main production of Crete? Olive oil! So we stop in a very authentic mountain village and visit an olive oil factory.
